This project is a re-imagining of an existing industrial process space focused on high-tech heat treating and brazing operations. We were tasked with designing for the addition of new furnace equipment; the existing metal building’s functions were reconsidered and moved to other portions of the campus while new, more important functions, were integrated into the new forms.

The space includes a lab, floor shop assembly and inspection space, a new 12-15 person conference room, and two discrete offices. An architectural language was proposed that references the existing industrial corrugated SIP panel siding while also formally and literally suggesting a sense of “balance” between the management processes of the company (above) and the heat-treating operational processes (below).
