We are architects with a passion for telling compelling stories through progressive design. Our process intentionally moves beyond stylistic solutions to arrive at outcomes that speak to a deep sense of place and meaning for each client, creating enduring projects that transcend scale and budget.

About our Firm

.

The studio partners with clients who aim to elevate their everyday experience of home, work, and place. We craft custom and thoughtful solutions to sometimes complex problems using the power of design thinking and an optimistic belief in the emotional resonance of good design. Working closely and collaboratively with clients, we believe that design has the power to create positive change and lasting value.

To serve our clients we leverage many years of professional experience realizing design across various project types, scales, and styles. As principal of the firm, Justin works together with a small team of collaborators as required on each project, maintaining a presence in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Our office is currently licensed to practice in six states: Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Tennessee, and Colorado, and we register for reciprocal licensure on a project-by-project basis as required.

We provide a comprehensive scope of architectural and design services, offering close collaboration for each project, client, site, and budget. The design process of the studio is highly collaborative and idea-driven; empathetic listening along with a rich process of questioning help to arrive at core concepts for design direction. Once the narrative qualities of each project emerges, appropriate forms and materials are assembled to tell this story in the physical, built world.

All of our projects are designed in 3D BIM modeling software (Revit) and we rely heavily on process rendering, sketching, and physical modeling throughout the process. For most of our clients, a full suite of services is what is required to reach aesthetic and performance goals, however each project is different and we can be flexible with your needs and budget. Our Basic Services are structured in four categories: Predesign, Architectural Design & Interiors, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration.

Justin Towart brings sixteen years of experience (with time spent at Roger Ferris + Partners, Demetriades + Walker, and Pickard Chilton) designing projects across multiple scales that attempt to bridge the gap between the poetic and the practical. Trained in architecture and graphic design, Justin’s design approach is shaped by a deep understanding of composition, color and form. His critical thinking and technical precision allows him to create quality work that is both thoughtful and enduring. Raised in central Pennsylvania, Justin is guided by a quiet, intuitive disposition coupled with a strategic pragmatism.

His previous professional experience spans a wide range of projects where he led or contributed to the design of more than 65 projects in the luxury residential, mixed-use commercial development, masterplan, and skyscraper project types. Justin is actively involved in the architectural community and he has been a visiting critic or guest speaker at The Pennsylvania State University, Parsons School of Design, University of Colorado Denver, 100 Fold Studio, and YWAM. He enjoys serving with his design skills in the non-profit sector whenever possible. Justin holds a Master of Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design (Summa Cum Laude) and a professional Bachelor of Architecture from the Pennsylvania State University (Second in Class, With Honors), where he was awarded four of the University’s top design awards: the AIA Henry Adams Award, the A&A Design Excellence Award, the Corbelletti Design Charette First Prize, and the A&A Creative Achievement Award.

Despite all of the above, he retains a decent sense of humor. You’ll find him on the weekends scribbling goofy pictures, with his 3 children and wife painting nails, eating America’s Best Pizza, or training for the next marathon. Justin is active in his faith community and serves with his design skills as often as possible.
